Compression of item master data

To tidy up and streamline the article master, you can compress inactive articles in WinLine. To do this, you combine the articles concerned - as well as any associated characteristic articles, batches, serial numbers and ID numbers - in a generic article.

Afterwards you have the possibility to delete the compressed articles and to reassign the article numbers in WinLine that have become free again.

The transaction data of the compressed articles remain largely unaffected, so that you can continue to carry out evaluations on the basis of the document statistics, the sales statistics and the customer statistics. Likewise, the stock movements of these articles - via the specified generic article - can also be traced retroactively.

Compression is possible for the following article categories:

• Main article
• Characteristic article
• Batch articles
• Serial and identification number articles
